Custom Digital Dash Mounts: Installing MoTeC & Haltech Displays with 3D Printing
Modern race cars and track builds rely on digital standalone displays like Haltech IC7, MoTeC C125/C127, and ECUMaster ADU5/ADU7. However, generic aluminum brackets rarely fit clean OEM steering columns or gauge clusters without cutting into original dashboards.
3D printed custom cluster bezels solve this by creating factory-finish, bolt-in brackets.
Engineering Design Requirements for Motorsport Brackets
1. Vibration & High-G Load Tolerance
Track vibration will crack brittle plastics. Use ASA, Carbon Fiber PETG (PETG-CF), or PA-CF (Nylon Carbon Fiber) for maximum rigidity and heat stability.
2. Glare Hood & Sun Visor Geometry
Steering column mounts must incorporate an angled sunshade hood to prevent direct sunlight washout on high-contrast LCD screens.
3. Integrated Wiring Channels
Ensure internal routing channels for CAN-bus harnesses and Deutsch DTM connectors to maintain clean cockpit aesthetics.
